Recently, a developer under the nickname propokop presented the Gothic GBC Demake project. He recreated the original world of "Gothic" for the Game Boy Color console.

According to propokop, the project took him two months. Players will be able to visit most of the iconic locations and meet beloved characters.

The developer warned that Gothic GBC Demake lacks a combat system and storyline, but there is a main goal: the main character needs to collect 10 artifacts scattered throughout the game world:

Be sure to talk to the characters – they might have something funny or interesting! Unfortunately, at the moment the game does not have iconic musical tracks, and the sound in general is minimally implemented, but work on this is ongoing.

You can play Gothic GBC Demake for free in your browser on itch.io at the following link. Propokop also noted that his project can be launched on the original Game Boy Color console, an emulator, or another device with GB-ROM support.

Currently, Alkimia Interactive studio is preparing for the release of Gothic 1 Remake, the game is planned to be released on June 5, 2026. You can add it to your Steam wishlist at the following link.
