Developers of "Gothic" Remake to Release Update for Original PC Version of Gothic with Improvements
Console improvements will eventually be appreciated by "Gothic" fans on PC as well.
Currently, Alkimia Interactive studio is developing Gothic 1 Remake. The new version of the classic is being promoted in various regions, including Russia.
Ichy87 spoke with Alkimia Interactive Community Manager Timur "T-Moor" Khodyrev. He said that players should thank the studio's director, Reinhard Pollice, for the remake of the first part, as Pollice "was the initiator of the remake's development and other projects related to Gothic." Timur also confirmed that some developers of "Archolos" (The Chronicles Of Myrtana: Archolos modification) have joined the team.
The original "Gothic" trilogy will be ported to consoles. When asked by the interviewer, "Will there be any innovations in the PC version? Will achievements, cards, and so on be added?", Timur replied:
We plan to update the PC version, but we are not ready to name a date yet. We plan to add as many improvements from the console versions as possible. We will publish the patch notes when we are ready.
The developers of the "Gothic" remake tried to fix plot holes, empty and illogical moments in the original's story. Timur noted that the remake added "some of the cut content" from the original game:
Gothic 1 Remake is scheduled for release on June 5, 2026. You can add the game to your Steam wishlist via this link.
