The Best Anime Drama of 2025 Returns: Full-Length "Takopi's Original Sin" Gets New Trailer

The familiar story will be supplemented with new scenes.

The creators of the full-length anime “Takopi's Original Sin” have unveiled a new trailer and poster. The video features the song Love You performed by Tele, who previously recorded the ending theme for the original series.

The film is subtitled Arigato, Mata Ashita (“Thank You, See You Tomorrow”) and will combine the events of all six episodes released in 2025. For the theatrical version, the story will be re-edited and supplemented with new scenes, giving viewers a reason to rewatch the beloved anime, which has already won the award for best drama at the Anime Trending Awards 2026, surpassing the second season of “The Apothecary Diaries” in audience voting.

The story follows the naive alien Takopi, who arrives on Earth to bring happiness to people. Here he meets schoolgirl Shizuka and tries to help her with his unusual gadgets. However, Takopi completely misunderstands human relationships, so his good intentions lead to tragic consequences.

The anime is based on the manga of the same name by Taizan 5. The production is handled by ENISHIYA studio, Shinya Iino once again served as director and screenwriter, and Keita Nagahara is responsible for character design. Kurumi Mamiya, who voiced Takopi, and Reina Ueda, who voiced Shizuka, returned to their roles.

The premiere in Japan will take place on November 27, 2026. The international release date is not yet known.
