Open Door Week on Tau Ceti: Marathon Temporarily Free

Bungie has announced the launch of the first open play week in the shooter Marathon. The event will run from June 2 to June 9 and is designed to attract new players, as well as introduce them to the fresh content of the second season.

The main innovation will be an experimental mode with sponsored kits, which combines elements of PvE and PvP. Events unfold on the new Night Swamp map, but the rules differ significantly from standard matches.

In a regular game, all runner teams appear on the map simultaneously. In the new mode, however, only one squad is deployed first, which gets several minutes to explore the location and fight against OKSZ forces and other dangerous creatures. After that, Hand marauders gradually begin to join the match.

To prevent the starting squad from gaining too much advantage, its members begin the game with only basic equipment kits. However, as they explore the map, they can find more powerful weapons and gear, making the confrontation with the arriving Hands even more intense.
