NetEase Games will showcase its first story-driven cinematic project, Blood Message, at Summer Game Fest 2026. This was announced by show host Geoff Keighley, who posted an announcement on social media with a mysterious hint about the “long, blood-soaked road home” that the main character will have to travel.
The game is set after the fall of the Tang Dynasty in a dark and harsh world inspired by historical China. Players will take on the role of an unnamed messenger who embarks on a perilous journey through chaos-ridden lands to complete an important mission.
On his way, the hero will face not only numerous enemies but also various natural obstacles. The developers promise a combination of dynamic battles, stealth gameplay, parkour elements, and rich cinematic storytelling. Judging by the first materials, the project relies on both spectacular staging and diverse gameplay.
Blood Message is being developed for PC and consoles.
