The release of the multiplayer role-playing action game Horizon Steel Frontiers has been postponed to 2027

Although rumors about the game began circulating online as early as 2022, the official announcement only took place in 2025.

NCSoft has revealed new details about the MMORPG Horizon Steel Frontiers, based on the popular Horizon series by Guerrilla Games and Sony. According to a fresh presentation for investors, the project's release is scheduled for the first half of 2027.

It is not yet specified whether this refers to a launch only in South Korea or a worldwide release. However, given the popularity of the Horizon franchise outside the Asian market, a global launch seems most likely.

The action of Horizon Steel Frontiers will unfold in a region called the Blighted Lands – a vast open area inspired by the landscapes of the American states of Arizona and New Mexico. The game's events will take place parallel to Aloy's story from Horizon Forbidden West, but the participation of the heroine herself or other well-known characters from the series has not yet been confirmed.

The developers promise traditional genre elements: cities, guilds, and large-scale raids. At the same time, NCSoft is collaborating with Guerrilla Games to preserve the atmosphere and canonicity of the universe. The developers also previously did not rule out a version for PlayStation 5, although the final decision on this matter rests with Sony.
