Several years ago, The Farm 51 studio introduced the tactical multiplayer online shooter World War 3 in an "early access" format. The events unfolded against the backdrop of a global conflict:

Assemble a squad and outmaneuver the enemy in strength and tactical cunning. Fight in real-world cities such as Warsaw, Berlin, and Moscow. Choose the perfect loadout from a vast arsenal of weapons, then use vehicles, gadgets, and drones to strike and seize the initiative in battle.

The project attracted some attention but failed to retain its audience. Subsequently, Wishlist Games acquired the rights to the World War 3 project and planned to "usher in a new era for this ambitious game." However, after several years, the new developers announced that they had "made the difficult decision" to cease support and shut down its servers:

This was not an easy decision. You have supported us for many years, and we thank everyone who played World War 3, shared feedback, reported issues, created content, and kept the community active. Thank you for being a part of this journey.

Recently, the peak online player count in World War 3 was between 40 and 70 players, with an all-time record of 11.7 thousand users.

The World War 3 page on Steam is available at the following link. The game's servers will operate until August 3, 2026.
