Pre-order for the board game "Detective: City of Angels" is open - murders, investigations, and dirty secrets

In 2027, thanks to the deductive board game "Detective: City of Angels," users from Russia will be able to visit 1940s Los Angeles, solve crimes, intimidate suspects, conceal evidence, and use informants.

The publishing house "Lavka Games" has opened pre-orders for "Detective: City of Angels" – a deductive board game for 1-5 players with a system of adaptive response cards that simulates real communication with suspects.

Currently, it can be purchased for 5990 rubles, the "Bullets Over Hollywood" expansion for 2990 rubles, the "Smoke and Mirrors" expansion for 3990 rubles, the "Saints and Sinners" expansion for 2990 rubles, the "Heists and Dramas" expansion for 2990 rubles, and the "All-Inclusive" combo lot for 17,500 rubles.

People who purchase the combo lot will receive a GM screen and sets of promo cards. In addition, all pre-orderers of the base game will receive a bracelet with the inscription "Possibly criminal! To the horses!"

The game is set in the dark and brutal world of 1940s Los Angeles. One gamer will be the GM, while others will take on the roles of detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department's homicide division, eager for glory and willing to do anything to successfully solve a case – even intimidate suspects, conceal evidence, and hire informants who will snitch on fellow detectives.

The GM is not an active participant in the case or story. Instead, they control how suspects respond to questions for each case using a system of adaptive response cards. They will have to stall for time and mislead the detectives, resorting to bluffing, manipulation, and outright lies.

Suspects do not give stock answers: the GM carefully chooses how they will respond. Although the GM wins if none of the detectives manage to solve the case, their primary task is to guide the plot and ensure that all participants enjoy the gameplay.

Each case is a meticulously crafted mystery that can unfold in different ways depending on how the detectives choose to conduct the investigation. As the detectives turn Los Angeles upside down, they will find new clues and hot leads, delving deeper into the story.

The game features three modes: classic, where everyone is for themselves; "Sleuth" mode without a GM; and "Showdown," where the GM plays against one detective or a team of detectives. The board game "Detective: City of Angels" will appear in stock in early 2027.
