A user under the nickname Traditional-Snow-463 shared their experience playing Battlefield 6. They played it for a bit, took a break, and when they returned, the computer started asking for a BitLocker code.

They entered it, and a few seconds later, the game crashed. The computer wouldn't turn on, and a clean installation of Windows from a flash drive was required:

In the end, I lost everything saved on my PC. I didn't have anything particularly important there, so it's not the end of the world, but it's still unpleasant. And here's the problem: Secure Boot completely stopped working even after reinstalling Windows. It seems Battlefield 6 broke something in the firmware. The only thing I haven't tried yet is updating the BIOS or completely reinstalling it. Honestly, that's too complicated for me.

The gamer didn't want to go through this "hassle" just to play Battlefield 6 and tried to get a refund. They described the whole situation to Valve, and "not even 10 minutes passed before a notification arrived" – their refund was approved, and the money was returned to their Steam wallet and card:

We have processed your refund. You paid for the purchase partially through your Steam Wallet and partially through another payment provider. The funds in your Steam Wallet will now show as pending and will be available for use within 7 days. The remaining amount will be credited to your account or the original charge will disappear from your payment provider's records within 14 days.

Traditional-Snow-463 is very happy with how Valve's service handled this situation. They admit that such promptness might be due to their active spending on Steam:

I want to clarify: I've spent an indecent amount of money on Steam, especially in the last two weeks. I think that's why they were so loyal to me and approved several refunds in recent days. It's as if they know I'll return that money to them anyway...
