Martin Cochet and FDG Entertainment announced the release of Gombo on PC via Steam in early June. This is another game in the popular "survival" genre, which stands out with its graphics.
The developers invite players to embark on a cartoon world, reminiscent of Cuphead's style. Players are offered to take on the role of Gombo and explore a world that may seem friendly and beautiful during the day, but at night everything changes:
The world is gripped by a mysterious infection that spreads only at night! Beware of what it does to the inhabitants of the world, who go mad and become deformed under the influence of the infection. Can you find out what is happening and save the world?
Gombo features a standard set of mechanics for the survival genre: resource gathering, building, and combat. There will also be an opportunity to customize your character from head to toe. The developers noted that the game supports controllers and is optimized for Steam Deck.
The Gombo page on Steam is available at the following link, and the first reviews of the game are "mostly positive."
The project is being developed in "early access," and the developers expect it to remain in this status for 6-7 months. Their current goal is to release the full 1.0 version by the end of this year. However, timelines may be adjusted "depending on player feedback and how much we want to expand or refine the game as we go."
