Xbox CEO Asha Sharma stated that the company continues to carefully examine the issue of game exclusivity. The head spoke about this during her appearance at the Bloomberg Live event, where she also summarized her first hundred days at the helm of Microsoft's gaming division.

According to Sharma, the exclusivity strategy remains one of the most complex issues for Xbox. She reminded that Microsoft is currently the second-largest game publisher in the world, and therefore strives to make its projects available to the widest possible audience. This explains the release of its own games on PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2.

However, as the head of Xbox noted, the company is increasingly developing itself not only as a publisher but also as a gaming platform. In such a case, the presence of exclusive content and unique services becomes an important part of the business.

This is not an easy topic. To be a successful publisher, you need to reach as many players as possible. But at the same time, we are increasingly becoming a platform, and a platform needs exclusive content and services. Therefore, we are studying this issue very carefully.

She added that Microsoft does not intend to apply a single approach to all releases. The decision on whether a particular game will remain exclusive will be made separately for each project, taking into account the experience of other companies in the industry.
