Marathon Players Get Two Extra Days to Explore the Game
Bungie has extended free access to Marathon until June 11 - two days longer than planned.
Bungie announced an extension of the Marathon Open Play Week. Free access to the shooter will now end on June 11, instead of the originally planned June 9.
The developers also promised to give all participants 50 SILK, one of the in-game currencies. To receive the reward, players simply need to log into the game during Open Play Week. The currency will be delivered via in-game mail and will remain available for collection until the end of the promotion on June 11.
In their message, the studio acknowledged that recent technical issues hindered players:
We know that server downtime disrupted not only your runs but also your plans, and we want to acknowledge these inconveniences.
Open Play Week began on June 2, alongside Marathon's second season, and was originally scheduled to conclude on June 9. As part of the promotion, players were given access to the full version of the project on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
