"Heiress of Heroes" Songs of Conquest Receives "Yulan" DLC with Faction, New Maps, and Troops

The developers of Songs of Conquest have prepared a new story and other content.

In early June, Lavapotion studio and Coffee Stain Publishing announced the release of a new expansion for the strategy game Songs of Conquest, titled "Yulan":

Yulan is a beautiful place where wonders reside. Magical beasts roam, peasants peacefully work in the fields, and seekers unravel the mysteries of essences. But while only the noble houses of Li, Sheng, and Xuan once warred in these lands, an ancient enemy now awakens here.

The developers position the "Yulan" DLC as the most ambitious faction expansion to date. The idea originated almost 10 years ago when the creators of Songs of Conquest first began discussing factions for their game.

Songs of Conquest added five new conquest maps, music, artifacts, Wielders, and other content. The developers listened to community feedback and created a full story across three maps, telling the tale of House Sheng and Wielder Shun as Yulan faces old and new threats:

With Yulan, we wanted to create something special – not only visually distinct but also mechanically, as we've strived to do with all new factions. The essence you favor influences your buildings, units, and combat style. Combined with multiple upgrade paths for many troops, this offers a huge variety of development options, as well as more unique units than in any of our previous downloadable content.
