33 years later, The 7th Guest remake is released - developers closed one of their divisions a day after the release

Vertigo Games studied the VR market and decided to shut down its Amsterdam division.

In early June, The 7th Guest Remake was released on PC via Steam. Exkee studio and Vertigo Games, which also acts as the publisher, are listed as developers.

Players were invited to return to the classic quest about exploring a mansion — the original version was released in 1993:

The peak online for The 7th Guest Remake on Steam at launch reached 151.

It so happened that two days after the release of The 7th Guest Remake, Vertigo Studios announced the closure of one of its divisions, Vertigo Studios Amsterdam:

The VR market remains challenging, and after careful analysis, we have made the difficult decision to close Vertigo Studios Amsterdam. This decision was not made lightly, and I want to acknowledge the impact it has on all employees of the studio. Since joining Vertigo Games in 2021, Vertigo Studios Amsterdam has released some of the best games in our portfolio. Their creativity, dedication, and hard work have been invaluable, and we are now focused on supporting the team during this period. Thank you to everyone who contributed to the development of Vertigo Studios Amsterdam over the years.

Previously, Vertigo Studios released VR projects such as Arizona Sunshine VR Remake (in-house development), Thief VR: Legacy of Shadow (published the game by Maze Theory studio), and The 7th Guest VR (released three years ago).
