Paramount has merged Skydance New Media and Skydance Interactive into a single unit, Paramount Games Studio - led by former Epic Games executive Tony Driscoll and creative director Amy Hennig.

Paramount has officially announced the creation of Paramount Games Studio. The company has merged Skydance New Media and Skydance Interactive into a single gaming division, which will develop projects based on well-known franchises as well as new IPs.

The studio will be headed by Tony Driscoll, who previously worked at Epic Games on the economy and ecosystem of Fortnite. According to him, games should become one of Paramount's key business areas, alongside film, television, and streaming.

Driscoll noted that modern platforms like Fortnite and Roblox demonstrate the enormous potential of user-generated content, and the development of AI tools will allow more creators to develop their own projects. He also stated that games remain one of the best ways to engage audiences in fictional worlds.

The new studio's portfolio already includes Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra and an unannounced Star Wars game, presented back in 2022. The company stated that it plans to release projects for various audiences, from casual players to AAA game enthusiasts.

According to Variety, Amy Hennig has also joined Paramount Games Studio. The former head of Skydance New Media has taken on the role of creative director for the new division.
