Studio MDHR broke years of silence and at Summer Game Fest 2026 announced two projects in the Cuphead universe at once. The first to be shown was the debut trailer for Mighty Cuphead Adventure — a pixelated retro platformer with elements of an arcade shooter.
Following this, the studio confirmed the development of a full-fledged sequel to the original Cuphead. Production is in its early stages, so no gameplay footage has been shown yet. The developers stated that the new installment will retain the series' traditional challenging hand-drawn animation in the style of 1930s cartoons and will continue the story of the main characters.
The release dates for both games have not yet been disclosed. Both games will be available on consoles and PC.
The trailer is available at the following link.
