Former Little Nightmares Developers Announce Release Date for Horror Metroidvania End of Abyss

Epic Games Publishing and Swedish studio Section 9 Interactive have unveiled a new trailer for the sci-fi horror game End of Abyss and announced its release date. The studio was founded by former developers from Tarsier Studios, known for the Little Nightmares series. The trailer showcased gloomy locations, battles with monsters, and exploration of an underground complex where the main events of the game will unfold.

End of Abyss combines elements of Metroidvania, action-adventure, and twin-stick shooter. Players will explore interconnected locations, upgrade equipment, and gradually unlock access to previously inaccessible areas of the complex.

The game will be released on October 1, 2026, on PC via the Epic Games Store, as well as on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
