Vertigo Games, a studio known for its VR projects, surprised flat-screen owners – the developers announced a full remake of their zombie hit Arizona Sunshine, built from scratch for PC and consoles.
The project reinterprets Arizona Sunshine 2, transforming the gameplay into a dynamic third-person action format. The story follows a cynical survivor named Sunny, who travels through the sun-scorched deserts of the Grand Canyon in search of other people. He will be accompanied by his loyal dog, Buddy.
One of the main features of the remake will be full co-op. You can exterminate hordes of zombies with machetes, shotguns, and flamethrowers both online and on a split screen. The second player will be able to control Buddy, which will open up new tactical possibilities for clearing locations. The combat system will also include spectacular cinematic finishers to compensate for the change in perspective.
Arizona Sunshine is scheduled for release in late 2026. The game will be available on PC via Steam and Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2.
