The Last of Us multiplayer never made it to PC, but gamers will have an alternative.

Recently, Albatross Interactive studio presented a full announcement trailer for Terminal War. The project is positioned as a team-based third-person shooter.

The events unfold in a “divided America of the late 1990s.” According to the plot, after World War III, three factions are fighting for control:

  • Federal Faction (F.MF.) — powerful, aggressive, and unified.
  • Free States Union (L.S.U.C.) — an alliance of states fighting for independence.
  • The Banshees (Rebel Faction) — grassroots (people's) militias rising from local strongholds.

Players will have to participate in battles in war-torn cities, forgotten settlements, and disputed territories.

You can add Terminal War to your Steam wishlist via the following link. Early access release on PC is expected in 2026. The developers also plan to later introduce versions for PlayStation 5 (PS5) and Xbox Series X|S consoles.

The gameplay of Terminal War is reminiscent of the online mode for The Last of Us, and this is no coincidence. It is known that former Naughty Dog employees who worked on the canceled multiplayer for The Last of Us Part II are working on the game.
