Grounded 2 to be released on PS5 in August. Microsoft announced the release date
Obsidian Entertainment confirmed the release of Grounded 2 on PS5. On August 11, 2026, the game will be available on Sony's console and will retain full cross-play support with Xbox Series X|S and PC.
Currently, Grounded 2 is being developed within Early Access and Game Preview on Xbox Series X|S and PC. Soon, PS5 owners will also be able to join the project.
This is an important step for the game, as Grounded 2 focuses on cooperative play and world development with the community. The release on a new platform should increase the number of active players and simplify finding partners to explore Brookhollow Park.

Grounded 2 supports cross-play, so PS5 owners will be able to play together with Xbox Series X|S and PC users.
Microsoft and Obsidian previously stated that they are developing Grounded 2 together with the community. The early access period is used to add content, improve mechanics, and incorporate player feedback. The release on PS5 will attract a new audience who will also be able to influence the further development of the project.
Despite rumors of Xbox's more cautious approach to releasing its games on Sony consoles, Grounded 2 will be another Microsoft project to be released on PS5. The release will take place on August 11, 2026.
