Capcom recently confirmed the rumors circulating online. After more than 20 years, Resident Evil Code: Veronica will receive a remake.

The announcement of Resident Evil Veronica attracted a lot of attention from the gaming community. The premiere of the debut trailer took place on June 6, and on the PlayStation YouTube channel, it has already gathered over 3.8 million views in a few days.

For comparison, the trailer "Resident Evil Village - Announcement Trailer | PS5" gathered 3.3 million views – it was published in June 2020. Last year's June trailer for Resident Evil Requiem gathered 2.8 million views.

Nevertheless, Resident Evil Veronica is not the absolute record holder for the number of views on the PlayStation YouTube channel among trailers for games in the franchise.

For example, the second trailer for the Resident Evil 4 remake gathered 4.2 million views (it was published in October 2022).

After the announcement of Resident Evil Veronica, a gamer-joker reminded about himself. In April 2024, redfieldcode promised "not to release his grandmother from the cage" until Resident Evil Code: Veronica received a remake.

Now he wrote that he "released" her. His post was soon noticed by the official Resident Evil franchise account, which commented: "[the remake] will be released in 2027, put her back."
