Roskomnadzor asked law enforcement to allow it to unblock Roblox

The platform provided the Ministry of Digital Development with guarantees of compliance with Russian legislation.

The Roblox platform has agreed with Russian authorities on additional measures aimed at improving the safety of underage users of the platform. This was reported by the Ministry of Digital Development of the Russian Federation.

According to the agency, in early June, the parties completed negotiations and reached agreements regarding the protection of the rights of Russian users of the gaming service. As part of the agreement, Roblox provided guarantees of compliance with the requirements of Russian legislation and pledged to implement a set of new security mechanisms.

The Ministry of Digital Development noted that the company recognized the insufficient effectiveness of previously existing tools for protecting children from harmful content. Because of this, materials related to the promotion of suicide and drug use, as well as content capable of involving minors in illegal activities, were distributed on the platform.

In addition, Roblox promised to strengthen measures to prevent unwanted interaction between users and restrict children's access to potentially dangerous information.

It should be recalled that in early December, Roskomnadzor restricted access to Roblox in Russia. The reason was numerous violations related to the dissemination of materials containing justification of extremist and terrorist activities, calls for violent illegal actions, as well as other prohibited content.
