It turned out that Nintendo is not the only one developing the new Star Fox. Velan Studios, known for games like Knockout City and Midnight Murder Club, has been brought in to create the project. It is one of the key developers of the remake of the cult space arcade.
In an official statement, Velan Studios representatives said that the team had been working on the project for a long time and was finally happy to talk about it publicly. According to the developers, collaborating with Nintendo and having the opportunity to bring Fox McCloud and his team back to a new console was a great honor for the studio.
Velan Studios also announced that the game is being created on its own VIPER engine. Thanks to this, the developers were able to significantly improve the graphics quality, ensure stable operation at 60 frames per second, and implement all cutscenes in real time.
It is worth noting that this is not the first joint project between Nintendo and Velan Studios. Previously, the studio participated in the creation of Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit – an unusual game with radio-controlled cars that brought Mario Kart races directly into players' living rooms.
