Information about the price of Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave became known after the game's presentation at the recent Nintendo Direct. In the UK, the digital version of Fortune’s Weave is already available for pre-order for £58.99, and the physical edition is expected to cost around £67. In Canada, the boxed version is priced at 109.99 Canadian dollars, and in Australia — at 119.95 Australian dollars.
And this is just the standard edition. Nintendo also plans a premium edition costing 120 US dollars, including an artbook and other bonuses.
Former Nintendo of America employee and marketer Kit Ellis believes that the company deliberately set a higher price due to the loyalty of the Fire Emblem audience.
In his opinion, fans of the series are willing to overpay for physical copies of games, and the collector's edition for 120 dollars will likely sell out quickly. Ellis also suggested that a similar pricing strategy might be applied to the next installment of the Xenoblade series.
Recall that earlier Nintendo of America announced a transition to a differentiated pricing policy for games on Switch 2, where physical versions cost more than digital ones. Thus, the company brought the American market in line with the European one, where such a practice has been in effect for a long time.
