The remake remains true to the first "Gothic", preserving its distinctive features: complete freedom and boundless possibilities. The dark and harsh world of the colony is elaborated to the smallest detail. During the day, its inhabitants go about their business and follow their usual routine, completely independent of the player's actions. Although the main elements of the game remained untouched, the remake features an expanded quest system, additional NPC actions, new movement options, and a completely modernized combat system.
