One of the deadliest enemies in Path of Exile 2 turned out to be an ordinary crab - the game director revealed the secret of the crustacean mob's power

A common mob became an unpleasant surprise for hardcore characters.

Brave players embark on conquering the hardcore mode of Path of Exile 2, where they have no room for error. If they relax too much, they can die, and all their efforts will be reset. However, even prepared and collected players sometimes "die" from the most unexpected dangers.

For example, a well-known streamer Zizaran was killed during a fight with a regular enemy – it just (as it first seemed) was a sudden death of the character.

During a recent interview, Zizaran asked Path of Exile 2 game director Jonathan Rogers about this incident.

The developer explained that the Grinding Gear Games team analyzed the recording of the streamer's death. As it turned out, the killer was an ordinary crab. This crustacean mob is a common enemy, but it had a "secret weapon" – a bug. If the crab died while using an attack, dozens of projectiles would rain down at once:

Zizaran is far from the only victim of the crustacean mob. This feature of the crab turned out to be so deadly that it took third place in the number of kills.

Jonathan Rogers noted that sometimes not only bugs but also ordinary typos occur – developers can enter a number into the wrong cell, which gives mobs huge damage.
