NetEase Games recently unveiled a major mid-season content update for the hero shooter Marvel Rivals. The game not only added a new character and map but also an additional game mode.

Players can now play as Cyclops from the X-Men in Marvel Rivals. He is a duelist character who can unleash a rapid kinetic energy pulse in front of him, as well as use a “concussive blast” that can refract between enemies and environmental objects.

During his “Ruby Rage” (ultimate ability), the hero removes his visor and unleashes a powerful, wide beam in front of him, destroying all barriers in its path. Cyclops can also launch himself upwards and knock back affected enemies using his “Optic Ascent” ability.

He also has a passive team ability, “Red Adamantium”: Cyclops imbues Wolverine's claws with superpower, increasing the range of his attacks. While the effect is active, Wolverine's “Relentless Rampage” is replaced with “Kinetic Claws” — a short dash forward that unleashes a flurry of slashing attacks on surrounding enemies.

The creators of Marvel Rivals also introduced the “Shenglong Tournament” event — battles take place in an “18 vs. 18” format on the “K'un-Lun: Shenglong Arena” map. Participants will be able to unlock a Groot skin.
