Some fans have long wanted to see a shooter based on the StarCraft franchise.

Earlier this year, insider and Windows Central journalist Jez Corden suggested that the main theme of the upcoming BlizzCon 2026 would "most likely" be StarCraft. According to his data, developers plan to present a new game at the exhibition – at that time, information was received that it would be a first-person shooter.

In a recent podcast, Jez Corden returned to the topic of a new StarCraft project. Judging by the data he has, it will still be a third-person shooter. Earlier, he mentioned a "realistic graphics style" and clarified that it would be "not stylized graphics like Overwatch or StarCraft 2, it's more like SC2 cinematics."

BlizzCon 2026 is planned for September 12 and 13. Blizzard has not yet announced what it plans to present at the event. Rumors about the development of a new project for the StarCraft franchise have been circulating for several years.

Several months ago, information was received that Nexon and Blizzard are collaborating to develop a new StarCraft, as well as an Overwatch Mobile project.
