Palworld Creator Upset - Not Allowed to Reset Player Progress Before Full Game Release

Palworld 1.0 will introduce many changes to various game elements, but developers will allow players to continue their adventure on old saves.

Recently, the creators of Palworld announced that the game will leave early access. The developers are preparing for the release of update 1.0, which will add a lot of new content and introduce various improvements.

Sometimes, during such large-scale updates, wipes are carried out – a forced reset of progress, but this will not happen in Palworld.

Manager John "Bucky" Buckley, head of communications and publishing at Pocketpair, admitted during a conversation with the community on the game's Discord* channel that he would like to delete all players' saves.

But Palworld fans are "lucky" because he doesn't have such authority. Players can decide for themselves whether to start the game over. Bucky warned that those who choose to continue the game on an old save will miss some content:

You've already bought the game, so we don't benefit from you starting over. We just genuinely believe that with the large number of fundamental changes in almost all aspects of the game, starting from scratch will be much more enjoyable. If you really, really don't want to – that's absolutely fine, but we hope players understand: in that case, they will miss some content from version 1.0, as it includes content not only for players level 65+. If it were up to ME and ME ALONE, I would forcibly delete every player's progress. Fortunately for everyone, it's not my decision, so... your saves are safe.

Palworld is expected to leave early access this summer – on July 10. The developers emphasized in a separate message once again that starting a new game after the release of version 1.0 is not mandatory:

Players will be able to continue playing on existing saves if they wish – we respect the time and effort you have invested. However, due to the large number of changes in the game, including reworked mechanics and new content, we believe that starting with a new character will give you the best gaming experience in Palworld!
