A simulator for arranging games from your library on shelves has been released on Steam - "physical boxes" are generated for them
Boxroom will, in a sense, fulfill the long-held dream of digital game collectors on Steam.
Some Steam users accumulate hundreds or even thousands of games in their library, but unlike classic collectors, they cannot put their digital copies on a shelf. However, a solution recently emerged that allows this dream to come true — in digital format.
In June, a specific project called Boxroom by Nested Loop Studios was released on PC on Steam, which will allow gamers to take their games from their library in Valve's service and “arrange them on shelves.”
In terms of gameplay, Boxroom resembles a renovation simulator in the spirit of House Flipper, but with limitations. Here, the developers offer to furnish a dream gaming room: “physical boxes” are generated for games, and various decorations and furniture are also available.
The Boxroom page on Steam is available at the following link. The game was released in “early access” format, and Nested Loop Studios expects it to remain in this status for 6 to 9 months, but the timeline may be adjusted.
We have a major update planned for each month, which will add a new room theme, as well as other key features that we have been planning to implement over several months. The full version of the game will contain approximately six times more content (furnishings) than at launch, as well as many new features and improvements.
