Dragon's Dogma 2 Developers to Remove Many Microtransactions - Capcom Warns Players

Various add-ons will soon disappear from sale.

In June, Capcom announced the Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen expansion. A new region and other content will be added to the game.

The developers also announced that they would stop selling Dragon’s Dogma 2 Deluxe Edition and several add-ons:

Due to the development of additional content and various changes in the upcoming update, some products will no longer be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam starting June 25, 2026.

Among these DLCs are various in-game consumables, such as smoke beacons that attract harpies, as well as “Rift Crystals” which can be used to hire pawns or purchase special items.

The following will be removed from sale in digital services:

  • Dragon's Dogma 2 Deluxe Edition
  • A Boon for Adventurers - New Journey Pack
  • Harpysnare Smoke Beacons - Harpy Lure Item
  • Heartfelt Pendant - A Thoughtful Gift
  • Ambivalent Rift Incense - Change Pawn Inclinations
  • Makeshift Gaol Key - Escape from Gaol
  • Art of Metamorphosis - Character Editor
  • Portcrystal - Warp Location Marker
  • Wakestone - Restore the Dead to Life
  • 500 Rift Crystals - Points to Spend Beyond the Rift
  • 1500 Rift Crystals - Points to Spend Beyond the Rift
  • 2500 Rift Crystals - Points to Spend Beyond the Rift

In addition, the developers announced that the base version of Dragon’s Dogma 2 will also receive a permanent discount.

Capcom

This month, an update was released for Dragon’s Dogma 2, adding an additional specialization and other improvements to the game. Capcom plans to release another update in August — promising performance improvements for the save system, refined interface, various bug fixes, and more.

Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen is expected to be released on October 9, 2026 — on Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
