Fan-made expansion Blizzard in Baator with new locations and characters released for Planescape: Torment
Fans have prepared a new story in the world of Planescape: Torment: Enhanced Edition.
In June, modder FallDamage312 announced the release of the first act of the "Blizzard in Baator" expansion for the classic role-playing game Planescape: Torment: Enhanced Edition. He said that the project took about 2.5 years to complete by a team of more than 30 people.
FallDamage312 spoke about the plot's premise:
The Nameless One still holds untold secrets of his past that may return to change his very essence. One such clue, leading to his true identity, will send him on a perilous rescue mission to an entirely new region of Sigil and into the depths of the Nine Hells (Baator)—all the way to the 8th layer: the icy wastes of Cania, and then… even further? The danger is not only the harsh winter conditions but also the risk of being drawn into the eternal conflict of the Lords of the Nine.
The developers prefer to call their mod for Planescape: Torment: Enhanced Edition an "expansion" — it includes over 25 unique locations, 100+ NPCs, new items, and dozens of original musical compositions. They wrote "over a thousand pages of dialogue and lore" — without using AI.
The modification "Planescape Torment - Blizzard in Baator (Act 1)" is distributed free of charge via Nexus Mods, as well as Git-Hub "blizzard-in-baator" (user BallDamage312's repository).
