Gwent added to fan-made The Witcher Online - Geralts can now battle each other
The list of multiplayer features continues to expand.
Modder rejuvenate continues to develop his project The Witcher Online — an unofficial multiplayer for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. In June, he presented an improved version 3.0.
Now the modification supports Gwent — Geralts can play a game with their own card decks (i.e., player-versus-player matches are possible).
However, this multiplayer project still does not support co-op monster fighting or questing. But it does feature trading mechanics, as well as co-op riding — on horseback and on each other.
The "Witcher Online" modification is distributed for free via Nexus Mods. Playing as Geralt is not mandatory — players can use the appearance of another character from The Witcher universe.
Currently, CD Projekt RED, in collaboration with Fool's Theory, is preparing a major expansion for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt called Songs of the Past. The release is scheduled for 2027.
Earlier, rumors circulated online that an official multiplayer project for The Witcher was in development.
