Despite the venerable age of the PlayStation 4, Sony continues to support the console and release system updates for it. A new firmware update, version 13.52, has become available to PS4 and PS4 Pro owners.

However, don't expect new features or significant changes from the update. According to the official description, the update contains only one item:

"Security-related fixes have been made to the system software."

The company does not disclose details about the changes made. Most likely, the patch is aimed at eliminating potential vulnerabilities and further protecting the system from hacking. For most users, the update will go unnoticed, but it is still recommended to install it to maintain the current level of console security.

It is noteworthy that Sony continues to support not only the PS4. Earlier, in March 2026, the PlayStation 3 also received a system software update, although in its case, it was also a minor technical update.
