Saber Interactive announced the release date for the horror game Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival. The game, based on the cult "Hellraiser" franchise, will be released on October 8 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
Along with the date announcement, the developers presented a new trailer, showcasing the dark atmosphere and brutal scenes for which the series is famous. The creators promise a full adaptation of the spirit of the original films created by writer and director Clive Barker.
Earlier, Saber Interactive head Tim Willits said that the project received an ESRB age rating without any censorship. According to him, the team aimed to push the level of brutality to the maximum permissible limit. Judging by the published materials, the game indeed does not intend to soften the content: the developers promise a large number of bloody scenes, dismemberment, and dark elements characteristic of the "Hellraiser" universe.
Last year, Willits emphasized that the studio intended to go as far as rating organizations would allow. As a result, Hellraiser: Revival is positioned as one of the most uncompromising and mature horror games of recent years, aimed primarily at fans of the original film series.
Pre-order details have also been revealed. The standard edition in digital and physical formats will cost $39.99, while the Deluxe Edition is priced at $49.99. Buyers of any pre-order version will receive exclusive in-game bonuses: the Labyrinth Pistol Skin for the pistol and the Martyr Sawblade Skin for the saw. In addition, the collector's edition will offer a set of licensed souvenirs for franchise fans.
