In April, Crystalfall was released on PC via Steam in "early access" format. The launch of the Path of Exile 2 and Diablo IV competitor did not go smoothly — at the start, the servers crashed, and players flooded the new game with negative reviews. The negativity was also due to the small amount of content and various shortcomings.
CRG Studio tried to fix Crystalfall and had some success, but it no longer has the resources to continue supporting the game — they decided to close the servers.
Those who have already added Crystalfall to their library (it is free-to-play) will be able to play in offline mode:
Despite positive feedback on the new patch, which made recent reviews "Mixed," our studio has reached a point where we no longer have the resources to continue independent development of Crystalfall as a free-to-play online service game. Therefore, we have decided to close the online version's servers in 30 days, leaving the offline single-player version on Steam. This way, players will have time to download their character progress, as well as all purchased microtransactions for the offline version.
The Crystalfall page on Steam is available at the following link. The servers will be active until July 16:
Take on the role of a criminal imprisoned in a dungeon by a powerful organization ruling the surrounding lands. Explore a world devastated by the fall of a mysterious asteroid — a catastrophe after which fragments of an unknown crystal can be found here and there. They possess immense power, but their appearance locations are always different and are guarded by hordes of mutants and mechanical creatures.
