Resident Evil 4 Remake Gets Co-op - Modder Launches Beta Test of the Mode

News 0

Modder claybtv recently announced the start of co-op testing for the Resident Evil 4 remake.

The mod he presented allows two players to play the RE4 remake together, "synchronizing both games in real-time." The developer explained how his project works from a technical perspective:

Your partner connects to your game, and you progress through the campaign simultaneously. The mod synchronizes enemies, story events, doors, switches, and many other elements between the two game clients. Since Resident Evil 4 was originally designed as a single-player game, achieving this level of synchronization between two separate copies of the game is an extremely complex technical challenge.

The "Multiplayer Mod - Resident Evil 4" by claybtv will be distributed for free via Nexus Mods. The developer warned that this is a beta version – issues are possible:

This is not a "final release," and I am intentionally releasing it in this state so that real players can find bugs that I cannot identify alone. If you expect a polished, bug-free project – this is not it yet.
