Chronicles: Medieval received its first gameplay featuring large-scale medieval battles
Raw Power Games studio has published the first full gameplay demonstration of Chronicles: Medieval. The developers showed army preparation for battle, large-scale medieval battles, and some mechanics that make the game similar to Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord.
After the announcement at Summer Game Fest, the developers decided to elaborate on the project and show how battles unfold in Chronicles: Medieval.
The first minutes of the video are dedicated to troop deployment before the battle begins. The battle itself starts around the sixth minute. The authors note that units act quite autonomously and try to behave as realistically as possible.
Judging by the gameplay, Chronicles: Medieval offers more precise route and movement phase customization for troops than Bannerlord. After the battle begins, the player can also personally join the fight, just like in Mount & Blade 2. However, the main character does not have special advantages and has the same strength and stamina limitations as other warriors.
Battles are only part of the gameplay. The main actions unfold on the strategic map, where players will develop cities and manage armies. Also, like in Mount & Blade 2, players will be able to explore cities from a third-person perspective.
Chronicles: Medieval is scheduled for early access release on Steam in late 2026.
