Not Even Remasters: Activision Reveals Details of Upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops and Black Ops II Releases on PlayStation
Both shooters will receive minimal improvements.
New versions of Call of Duty: Black Ops and Call of Duty: Black Ops II will be released on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 in July. However, fans of the franchise should temper their expectations: these are not full-fledged remasters.
Many fans assumed that Activision was preparing updated versions of the iconic shooters with improved graphics and technical enhancements. However, the company officially confirmed that Black Ops and Black Ops II will be released as regular ports, not remasters.
According to Activision's statement, the games will appear on PS4 and PS5 almost in their original form. This means that even on the powerful PlayStation 5 Pro, users cannot expect serious graphical improvements or the utilization of all the capabilities of modern hardware.
Nevertheless, it is expected that the projects will receive some improvements and adaptations for current consoles.
The exact release date for the ports on PlayStation has not yet been disclosed, but their release is expected next month. Activision promises to share additional details later.
