Valve recently published an announcement regarding the supply situation with the Steam Controller. The company stated that demand for the gamepads "significantly exceeded" initial expectations.

Valve spoke about transitioning to a "reservation queue" and assured that it would continue to produce devices:

We are not going to stop producing the Steam Controller. At the same time, we are monitoring current demand and correlating it with how many devices we can release by the end of the year, as we strive to set realistic order fulfillment times.

The Steam Controller page will now indicate a time range when a user can "expect to receive an email to place an order depending on the reservation date."

A total of three "estimated windows" for placing an order were specified:

  • No later than September 2026.
  • No later than December 2026.
  • In 2027 (for this option, "specific dates" are promised to be announced later)

Valve announced that email recipients will have three days to place an order for the Steam Controller:

We will send emails to users with the option to place an order when their turn comes. You will have 72 hours to make a purchase, after which you will be removed from the list, and the queue will move to the next person on the list.

Earlier, the trailer for the summer sale was published online – only a few days remain until its start.
