According to Alinea Analytics data, games from PlayStation's internal studios on PC have been significantly more successful in terms of revenue than Xbox releases on PlayStation 5.
Analysts estimate that by November 21, 2025, PC ports of PlayStation exclusives had earned over $1.5 billion. After paying Valve's commission, estimated at approximately $350 million, Sony received about $1.2 billion in net revenue from sales of its games on Steam and other digital stores.
In comparison, Xbox Game Studios projects released on PlayStation 5 generated approximately $667 million in gross revenue for Microsoft as of April 29, 2026, after Sony's share was paid from each copy sold.
Thus, even considering the difference in accounting periods, Sony's revenue from its games' PC releases is almost double Xbox's results on the competitor's platform.
