CD Projekt will soon become CD Projekt RED - the group of companies will be renamed

CD Projekt recently announced a rebranding. The decision was made based on a shareholder vote.

Not all players know that the designation "CD Projekt RED" was actually used to refer to the company's division responsible for the release and development of video games based on The Witcher and Cyberpunk franchises. And "CD Projekt" itself is a Polish group of companies.

As a justification for this decision, the board stated that the proposal to change the company's name is related "to the intention of unifying the company's name with the name of the CD Projekt RED studio."

Currently, the activities of the studio [CDPR] correspond to the main operational activities of the Company (CD Projekt), which consist of producing and publishing video games, as well as managing the Company's brands, including through the creation and licensing of related products.

The changes will officially come into effect once the court registers the amendments to the articles of association.

Currently, CD Projekt RED is developing several projects: a new Cyberpunk, The Witcher 4, and, in collaboration with Fool's Theory studio, developers are working on an expansion for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, titled Songs of the Past.
