Valve hasn't released Deadlock yet, but fans of the shooter have already created problems for a business - hotel owners complained about gamers

Recently, a post from a user under the nickname shmashleyshmith appeared on the Reddit forum in the Deadlock online shooter community. He introduced himself as a supervisor at the real Baroness Hotel in Seattle.

There is a Baroness Hotel in the world of Deadlock, and the manager said that the gamers' humorous reviews are creating problems for the business:

We've noticed a sharp increase in Google reviews for our hotel that clearly reference the game Deadlock (specifically, the service and the “red-haired doorman”). We understand that this was intended as a community joke or a harmless prank, but unfortunately, it is having a serious and unintended [negative] impact on our real business and, consequently, our livelihoods.

Many Baroness Hotel clients are international travelers who do not speak English well enough, so they mistakenly take the humorous reviews from Deadlock fans for real complaints about poor service. The managers asked the players to remove such reviews so as not to harm the business:

[Clients] actively use Google's automatic translation of reviews to decide whether to stay with us. When they read machine-translated reviews about our poor service or hostile staff, they don't understand that it's a reference to a video game – for them, it's just a warning to stay away, and we lose customers.

The Deadlock page on Steam is available at the following link. At the moment, this is the most desired project on Valve's service – in terms of wishlists, it surpasses Light No Fire, the new Fable, Total War: WARHAMMER 40,000, Ark 2, and many other projects.
