Asa Germann has joined the cast of Marvel Studios' new “X-Men”. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the “Gen V” star will play Warren Worthington III, also known as Angel. The publication also confirmed earlier reports that Germann originally auditioned for the role of Cyclops, who will ultimately be played by Kit Connor.
Angel was part of the original X-Men lineup and first appeared in comics in 1963. Warren was born with large wings, allowing him to fly. Later, Apocalypse transformed the hero into Archangel and endowed him with metallic wings capable of firing deadly projectiles.
In addition to Kit Connor, Marvel has also cast Sadie Sink as Jean Grey, Maya Boyd as Storm, Indi Navarrette as Rogue, Samara Weaving as Emma Frost, Christopher Abbott as Professor Xavier, and Adam Driver as Mister Sinister.
The director of “X-Men” will be “Thunderbolts” helmer Jake Schreier. The premiere is scheduled for May 5, 2028.
