VIP early access to Grand Theft Auto VI is being sold online for cryptocurrency - scammers are deceiving players
Those who want to get "GTA VI earlier than others" end up with only disappointment.
Pre-orders for Grand Theft Auto VI recently opened. Rockstar Games' new game is once again in the spotlight, and scammers have become more active than ever.
Cybersecurity experts from Malwarebytes drew attention to another scam campaign. Attackers launch fake websites where they offer players to purchase "VIP early access" and promote them under the slogan "get GTA 6 earlier than others."
As illustrations, they typically use AI-generated images; sometimes the design also incorporates LEGO imagery and the popular YouTube blogger MrBeast.
Scammers offer victims to purchase this "VIP access" to Grand Theft Auto VI for several hundred dollars, with payment made in cryptocurrency, making it difficult to imagine that the player will be able to get their money back.
Grand Theft Auto VI is expected to be released in November this year and only on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles for now. No "early access" for the game has been announced. The developers have not yet named the release date for the PC version.
