The developers of the ShadPS4 emulator have announced ShadNet — an open infrastructure that will allow emulator owners to connect with each other and play multiplayer games.

According to the project's authors, ShadNet has been under development for several months and has now moved to the public testing phase. For now, the functionality is limited — only the results tracking system is working, but the team invites users to participate in the tests. Account registration is already open, although a separate launcher for the service has not yet been released.

In the future, ShadNet is expected to provide full support for online modes in PS4 games, including multiplayer functions for Bloodborne and other projects, effectively mimicking the original console's operation with connection to network services.

It is possible that sooner or later Sony will notice the enthusiasts and ask them to stop their unauthorized activities, which could directly harm its financial performance. However, it is important to note that the company has not yet demanded the cessation of ShadPS4 development.
