Path of Exile 2 Developers Unveil New Skill Tree, Currency, and Unique Item Scaling
Players will get additional options for experimenting with builds.
Path of Exile 2 developers have released another trailer dedicated to the new features and improvements of update 0.5.4. This time, the focus is on the new Atlas passive skill tree for Aldur's Runes, unique item scaling to player level, new currency, and more.
Path of Exile 2 Game Director Jonathan Rogers explained that this tree will allow players to invest in relic battles, expeditions, and grand expeditions.
There are a total of 24 points, including 12 significant skills, some of which "introduce entirely new mechanics." For example, one node will allow choosing between finding additional relics or increasing the chance of encountering expeditions on maps, and after selecting another node, Farrow will start selling new currency that can be purchased with Veridium. Players can use this currency to modify runes and start a battle with an unknown reward.
The Path of Exile 2 developers also announced that starting with version 0.5.4, the skill level of unique items will automatically adjust for low-level characters. This means that upon acquiring a unique item, players will be able to use it along with its skill as soon as they reach the minimum level for the item. According to Rogers, this will open up "a whole bunch of builds for much earlier gameplay."
Previously, Jonathan Rogers spoke about a feature that Path of Exile 2 fans have long dreamed of. Players will be offered to "subscribe" to builds – no more downloading will be required. This feature will be available not only to PC gamers but also to console players.
