Spyro the Dragon will receive a native PC port that will run smoothly on Windows 11.

Recently, players remembered the original Spyro the Dragon again. A gameplay recording posted by streamer lumilauraa went viral on social media.

She announced that a port of the first Spyro is coming – it will be possible to play on PC at 60 FPS:

You are not dreaming – this is Spyro 1 running natively on Windows 11 with a brand new OpenPETE decompilation and recompilation hybrid from Amec/tyscorp. 60 FPS, true widescreen [widescreen support], no polygon "jitter," correct textures – everything as it should be. The Spyro PC port is coming, and it will be released much sooner than we all think.

The development of artificial intelligence technologies has led some enthusiasts to create similar ports, remasters, and remakes using AI. However, this Spyro port will not be an "AI-slop." In a conversation with one of the players, streamer lumilauraa said that AI is not used in the development.

You can watch the gameplay recording at the following link. The project is still "in development" and there is no public version yet.

Earlier this year, a full new installment of the Spyro franchise, Spyro: A Realm Beyond, was announced. The game already has a page, you can find it here.
