New Night City Gang: Studio TRIGGER Unveils First Heroes of "Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2"

The sequel will tell a standalone story with new characters.

Studio TRIGGER continues to reveal details about the anime "Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2". The creators presented a new poster, showing for the first time part of the team around which the events of the sequel will unfold. Judging by the art, four main characters will be at the center of the story, but several more secondary characters are hidden in dark silhouettes in the background.

The first confirmed member of the new gang is a blonde named Wick Kingsley. His personal slogan is: "Heavy is the crown. But chrome is even heavier."

Next, the creators introduced his partner — a netrunner named D, a native of the nomadic clan "Snake Nation". He possesses outstanding technical skills and is obsessed with a thirst for revenge against the killer who destroyed his entire family. His slogan: "No signal - no survival."

The new chapter of the franchise will consist of ten episodes and will tell a standalone story, which the creators describe as "a dark chronicle of redemption and retribution." The director of the second season is Kai Ikarashi, director of the sixth episode of the original anime. Character design is handled by Ichigo Kanno, and the script is written by Masahiko Otsuka.

A full trailer will be shown on June 29, and it is likely that before then, the creators will introduce the remaining members of the new gang.
