Despite the failure of Concord, Sony is not going to abandon live-service games. Sony Interactive Entertainment President Hideaki Nishino spoke about this in an interview with Famitsu.

We believe that live-service games are content that attracts users worldwide, so we want to continue releasing projects from both internal studios and third-party developers. We are not only focused on promoting brand new games, but also considering what can be done with existing projects in the medium and long term. This year, we also plan to release our own live-service game, Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls, and we hope everyone will enjoy it.

Nishino also confirmed that Sony's online projects will continue to be released on PC. The refusal of simultaneous releases only applies to single-player games.

If releasing a game on PC helps maximize the gaming experience, we will continue to consider that possibility. For single-player games, PlayStation remains the priority. But in the case of live-service games, it is important that as many people as possible can play together, so we consider PS5 and PC as the main platforms.

The statements by Sony's president confirm that the company does not intend to change its strategy and will continue to invest in live-service games, despite past setbacks.
